What is discrimination?
Discrimination is the unfair treatment of people based on characteristics such as race, gender, age etc. Discrimination – treating a person or a group of people less fairly than other people or groups.

Types of discrimination
Race/Color Race discrimination- treating an individual unfairly. It is based on race or personal characteristics associated with their race such as skin color, complexion, facial features and hair texture. National Origin Treating people differently because of their national origin (country, ethnicity or accent)

Age Age discrimination is when an individual is treated unfairly or unfavorable because of their age. Disability Disability discrimination occurs when a person is treated unfairly or unfavorably because of their disability.

Gender When an individual is treated unfairly or unfavorable because of their sex or gender, it’s called sexism. Religion Religious discrimination is treating a person or group differently because of the particular beliefs.
